As I said in the introduction to this series, I don’t intend to do full reviews of all the episodes. Perhaps, like with the Pilot, I might be a bit more talkative about the episodes I feel were extra special but for the most part I’m going to try to do what I said in the introduction. Single out the things about each Season that made them memorable.
Season One was a magical season and it was filled with many wonderful memories. As I was trying to decide the best way to go about my next post, I remembered that I had actually done a “remember the season” post about Season One years ago. Back in November 2014, in the days leading up to the 100th episode, I had a lot of fun one night on Twitter with a picspam of favorite memories from Season 1. In June, after Season 5 ended, in a bit of summertime fun, I compiled my Tweets into a blog post.
Back then, this blog was still in its infancy so not many people probably saw that June 2015 post, so I thought, as part of this “Decade of Fun” series, I’d resurrect it. This is the exact order of the picspam as posted back in November 2014 on Twitter. It wasn’t in any particular order, just me tweeting stuff as my mind rambled, as it usually does. I did add just a few additional pictures on this post because I couldn’t believe I had left them out the first time. They were such gems.
Also, back in Season 1, I did very few of my own screen captures. I’ve kept the watermarks intact on all photos that are not mine. You’ll notice that a vast majority of them are from the long ago shuttered “AOLR” website. What a fantastic site that was! Oh well…here it is…I hope you enjoy the wonderful memories.

Thanks for all the screen shots. The memories of why I followed this show for all ten years. The more I think about it, I have loved this show every year, but the first was the best and it brought a little tear to my eye thinking it was ten years ago.
I know that there are many reasons that I watched this show and you showed quite a few of them. Thanks for bringing season 1 back. I remember how great it was watching these people become the Ohana that I loved in one season and continued for another 9.

OMG! This is fantastic! Every single picture brings back the absolute best memories! And I know I’m missing a billion more references (and purposely ignoring others). Danny, Chin, Kono! Danny getting sick. WoFat. Meeting Max. ComicCon. Rachael. Gracie. Jenna. Duke. The first I love you! The Waiter and Bond! First shirtless scene. Kamekona becoming part of the Ohana. A broken arm and my first broken heart with Steve getting arrested for what we knew he didn’t do.
What a season. It was so different. So fresh. The stunts, the chemistry. The guests (one of my favorites was P Diddy), the music. From the pilot to the last episode. There was just something so special about it. It was a procedural but it was all about friends. Ohana a new word, the best word. Ever.
“There is no Five-0 anymore”. Thank heavens there was. And for nine more glorious seasons.
Can’t wait for the next installment of this blog! It’s helping ease the void of no more.

When I remembered that I’d done a post on Season one and I went back to look for it, I was amazed at just how many wonderful moments there were that year. Like I said above, there were a few I couldn’t believe I had left out the first time so I added them in on this one. Looking through the old post and putting this one together, I could picture the exact frame in each episode where those incredible moments appeared and I found myself smiling and laughing at every memory.
It took me forever to get this put together because I went back to the episodes themselves just to re-watch those particular scenes and ended up watching entire episodes again because I just couldn’t turn it off.
It reminded me of how I felt that first season (well, how I felt for 10 years, of course) breathlessly waiting for every new episode because I just couldn’t wait to see what they were going to do next. Falling more in love with all the characters, but especially Steve and Danny, more and more every week.
As for “references ignored”… those references are in this blog because they were in the November 2014 picspam and June 2015 post so they are here as well. You have to remember that back in Season 1 and through to the end of Season 4 I really liked her and loved them as a couple so there was no reason, at that time, for me not to include those Season 1 memories. I can speak only for myself of course, but the only part of her “story”, even the ridiculousness of it for six years, that I choose to ignore is the last 2 minutes.

Totally understand where you’re coming from. I enjoyed the character myself until it just became to absurd for words. Like you the show ended for me with the last look back on the beach.

OMG……so many great memories! Every episode seemed chock full of clever dialog, beautiful smiles and chemistry off the chart. No wonder we all fell in love and were completely hooked. Thank you so much for doing this Linda…….it helps. I’m still reading fan fix stories, trying to get over those last few minutes.

It’s so true that S1 WAS chock full of all those things. But I think it was the chemistry between all the actors, but especially between Alex and Scott, that made the show must-see-TV every Monday night. I never would have stayed up past 11pm on the first work night of the week for any other show. Everything about the show was totally addictive. The stories, the scenery, the music, the action, the comedy and yes, the dialog. But it was beginnings of McDanno that solidified the show and made it the hit it was.

I absolutely loved all the pictures and the memories. I could not wait for every Monday night to see what Steve and Danny were up to, what kind of trouble they would get into. I actually looked forward to Monday nights. The work week started and it was also H-50 night. I had never been so happy to see Monday come. As i said earlier, nothing will compare to the pilot but there were some good episodes in Season 1. I will never forget it. Those were the days.

Loved all the photos-they brought back such great memories! Like when we first met Wo Fat-At the time,we had no idea what a pain in the butt he would be for Steve, but when he warned Steve not to look too closely into his family’s past, he knew what he was talking about! By the time we got to the last season, Steve had found out more than he probably wanted to,especially about his mother! I was so scared for Chin when he was wearing that explosive device around his neck and the team had to get 10 million dollars or it would go off, blowing him to bits-but the team did bail him out! These photos and memories remind me of why I loved this series so much! Thanks for bringing them back, Linda! Look forward to seeing more of them!
