So, CBS decided to go without showing the sensory deprivation angle of the premiere in the promo.  But I just love that pretty much everything they did include in the promo is centered around Steve and Danny.  😀
“Don’t just stand there being handsome….. say something!” 🤣🤣
And we get a good old fashioned “Book ’em Danno”!  I can’t even remember the last time we got one of those.
Ohhhhhhh come on …. just 2 more weeks….. who else is excited?!?!?

    Hi Linda,
I am very excited. As much as I hate seeing Steve tortured for the, I can’t even count, time, I am beyond anxious to see our show return. I know our Navy Seal is tough, but how many times can he do this and not show some type of scar. I know, I know its Hollywood and I don’t watch TV for the reality, I watch more for entertainment, but even a Navy Seal would have scars. That said, it sounds very entertaining. I also like that Wofat will be back, even though its in Steve’s mind. I miss that villain. I read that the new villian is his old girlfriend, other than
Catherine. Nice to see that he had other relationships.

I’m looking forward to the season. Thanks for keeping this blog going.

    • Thanks for the comment. Actually, Steve does have quite a few scars. There is the one on his upper left shoulder area from where he was shot by Victor Hess in the Pilot. They’ve kept that one pretty consistent over the years. There is the large scar (of which Danny has an identical scar) from the liver transplant and there’s a smaller one lower on his left abdomen where the bullets that tore apart his liver entered. So, yes, there aren’t as many visible scars as someone in reality would have after all Steve’s been through but when I think about it, if everything he’s been through left lasting visible scars, there wouldn’t be much left of his pretty face, would there? LOL

As for the “torture”, having seen the original 1968 Cocoon, Steve goes into this one well prepared to withstand the “cocoon”. It won’t be a pleasant experience but he’s more well equipped at the onset then he’s ever been in “capture and torture” situations before. He’s going into this one voluntarily and will advance preparation to be able to withstand it. I’m not worried for him this time.

About time…….I was beginning to feel a Magnum overload! But no worries I’m
too busy packing my bag – after many years of marriage and asking hubs not to keep buying me “stuff” he’s finally figured out the only thing I want to do for my b-day is go to SOTB……so fingers crossed the storm blows thru and this time I get to met Scott…..

    • Oohhhhhh I hope you get to meet Scott. He wasn’t at the one SOTB I was able to attend but it was still a fabulous experience. It’s something I never thought I’d get to see and it’s a memory I’ll carry forever, especially because I got to spend it with friends.. ohana!

I hope your travel plans included a stay in Hawaii for a few extra days, since SOTB got postponed to Sunday because of the incoming storm. I feel so bad for those who booked to leave on Sunday. To travel all that way only to miss it because of some stupid storm would be heartbreaking.

The same thing happened the year I went but that year, the hurricane had already passed the island by SOTB weekend but we were left with a TON of rain and there was a very real possibility our SOTB wouldn’t happen on it’s scheduled night either. But the Hawaiian gods were smiling down on us. In a week where it rained pretty much every single day, a 12 hour window opened up between storms and SOTB went off without a hitch. But it was a very close call and I know Peter and CBS were jumping through hoops trying to figure out what to do if the rain didn’t stop.

I’m glad the event wasn’t totally cancelled but rescheduled to Sunday. Safety is always the most important thing but I feel bad for anyone who’s plans got messed up because of it. I really hope that’s not too many people.

Unfortunately we are among those who have to be back to work Monday so yes we leave Sunday and will miss the main event 😦 but i’m hopeful there will be some kind of informal gatherings I fully intend to hang around and see who/what shows up and i’m not above using my almost b-day sob story to get info from the always helpful hotel staff…….so i’m not crying in my milk. It’s still Hawaii and i’m getting that shirt and whatever other goodies I can!

All of that is so great. I love the preview of the up coming episodes. Especially the Halloween episode, always look forward to those! Unfortunately I won’t be able to watch the premiere or at least the tank with that suit part due to my claustrophobia, first time missing a premier. Loved your update on everything, good job 🤗

Absolutely, I can’t watch anything that constricts breathing or tight spaces. Underwater scenes are bad for me too. So yes, don’t know about others but for me it does make me want air.

Linda, thank you SO much for posting this!!! I have been waiting for 4 months to get a preview, and am now even more excited, which I thought wasn’t possible 😁 Even though I also hate the Steve torture scenes, (this will be the 4th time) his acting is so intense that I don’t think I will mind😍 and, what’s better than Mcdanno to start out the new season? I so hope Eddie will get a place in the theme song! #200 is going to be SO awesome!!! The 100th is my favorite, followed closely by Season 3’s Adrift, so the 200th will hopefully rival them! Thanks again! Only 14 days, 12 hours, and 22 minutes 😀😁😀

    • I’m looking forward to the new opening as well to see if Eddie has a more prominent place in the credits. I’m not worried about Steve in this one. He’s not being ambushed and taken by force this time. He knows what he’s getting into and is going in well trained to withstand it. It won’t be pleasant but we don’t need to fear for his life like we have in the past. Alex is going to ROCK this episode.

I found this blog by accident when searching for some H5O information on Google and I’m so thrilled. I am addicted to this show and love to hear what others are thinking as we go along. I’m binge watching (am now on Season 7 Episode 14) to get caught up before Season 9 begins. I’m retired so I have all the time to sit back and watch. Nice meeting y’all.

    • Hi Bonnie!! Welcome! I’m so glad you found us. Feel free to go back and read the blog from the beginning (if you have time and are a glutton for punishment LOL). I didn’t start at the beginning of the show but the blog does go back several seasons.

I’m actually thrilled you found us on a Google search. I find it hard to believe my little blog is worthy of coming up on a Google search. I’ve never looked so that’s a nice surprise. I look forward to hearing from you and everyone else as we move toward a new season, a season that already looks to be a fantastic one. Welcome again!

  7. Thank you for the wonderful promo. I just love Danny asking Steve if he’s just going to stand there and look handsome. I can’t wait to see it. What could be better than Steve and Danny together? It has been a long time coming. Finally, we’re almost there. I would love to be at SOTB, but my son is deploying and we have to take him to the airport, I wouldn’t miss that for the world. It sounds like another great season is ahead of us. Hopefully, it will make the time that my son is deployed go faster.

    • This season already looks to be a really great one. The remake of Cocoon for 9.01, #200 for 9.07, Chi’s writing debut for 9.08, the promise of another episode directed by Alex….. yes this season looks very, very promising.

I hope it does make the time your son is away from you go much faster. Thank him for his service from us all! ♥♥
